the only batfamily member who uses guns in every fight and is willling to kill regardless of bruce's disapproval. was more reckless than dick as robin. after a fight with bruce, 15 yr old rh found out his mother wasnt his birth mother and set out to ethiopia to find his bio mom. his mom was working for the joker and betrayed jason for him; joker ended up beating the shit out of jason with a crowbar and locking him and his mom up in a room with a bomb. jason would've made it out alive if he didn't try to save his mom.

- until he was 11 he kept himself alive by stealing car parts and selling them until he stole the batmobile's tires and batman took him in once he caught him

6 months after his burial, superboy-prime literally punched the shit out of reality and made the timeline stutter and "restore things that shouldn't have happened" one of which was jason's death, so he was resurrected in his tomb. he dug his way out of the coffin and dirt and collapsed from exhaustion in the cemetary, since dying didn't heal his crowbar and explosion wounds. he was found and hospitalised for a year, having fallen into a coma. he woke up very suddenly and escaped from the hospital, not remembering his life as a vigilante, and lived on the streets for 6 months survivng purely on instinct from his childhood. eventually, jason was recognized by the supervillain talia al ghul, bruce's ex and damian's mom, heiress of the league of assassins. she realised he had brain damage and spent two years trying to cure him but failed. jason remembered how to fiight from muscle memory and nothing else. the league saw jason as a lost cause and, in a fit of desparation, talia threw jason into the lazarus pit; a supernatural phenomenon of restorative pools, capable of instantly healing injuries, resurrecting the dead, and even granting immortality to those who bathe in it. due to the magic of the pit, jason was restored, albeit with a darker personality. he spent another year training in everything bruce trained in, funded by talia, and killing all of his teachers once they fulfilled their jobs. he went back to gotham and took up the name the red hood, the joker's first alias, to get revenge on batman. he eventually gives up on killing batman and decides to be a better vigilante than him; killing those batman refuses to.

the only robin who chose to be robin knowing the consequences. his own solo training and the training batman provided him made him so powerful and strong that he has to be held back my four people and could fight a group of assassins on a moving train while blindfolded. he wins against jason and ties with nightwing. fights with a bo staff. nightwing admitted tim could best his detective skills; batman said that tim will eventually surpass him. figured out batman and robin's identities when he was 9.

was a huge fan of dick and his family, so he recognised a gymnastic maneuver robin performed that he previously saw dick and his family do. batman & robin inspired tim to train himself in martial arts, acrobatics, detective skills, and scholastics. once he turned 13, tim could see that batman had turned reckless and more willing to hurt people than he used to be, which he deduced to be caused by him grieving jason's death. he decided that batman needs a robin so he can hold back again so he reached out to nightwing to try to convince him to return to being robin. he refused, but, upon seeing tim put himself in harm's way to help batman, makes him and alfred consider tim to be robin. bruce agreed to mentor and train him, but only as a helper in the batcave considering tim's significant technology skills and refused to involve him in the field out of fear of another robin dying after jason. after tim's mother died and his dad got paralysed, batman let him become robin when he was 14, and later adopted him.
